Kevin Madison built EMBER because he was the 4.0 student and the failing student in the same semester, at the same school, depending on what each course happened to be offering him.
That simultaneity is the whole idea: the student is not one thing, and their relationship to any system is not fixed.
He is studying to become a forensic neuroclinical psychiatrist. He built this in the gap.
The company
What Corvexal is.
Corvexal builds Aria: a control plane that takes a question apart, checks each part against the source it came from, and keeps the result so the same work is not paid for twice.
EMBER is what Aria is for. It is free study software that rewrites an explanation until it fits the student reading it, and shows where every part of the answer came from.
The one-line version of the relationship: Corvexal sells the instrument and gives away the thing it measures.
